They Don’t Make The Teen Dramas Like They Used To
Everyone my age can remember the days of Dawsons Creek and The OC. I don’t care who the guy is every one of us has seen at least one episode of either show. I think both shows were extremely underrated in showing kids growing up in two different environments and social classes but at the same time they were so much alike. Now a days networks try so hard to catch lighting in a bottle with failed attempts of teen dramas. There will never be another Dawsons Creek or OC. The only thing that has even come close and at times is better than the after mentioned shows is Friday Night Lights. Friday Night Lights is one of the most well written acted filmed directed shows on TV. NBC has never been able to find an audience with this show and has just screwed up immensely. They had the next OC and Dawsons Creek and failed to capitalize with it.
End Of Era In Reality TV
The End Of An Era?
While I didn’t watch an episode of the show till season 3. I think its my duty to report that The Hills will be coming to an end. Yes whether or not it’s the end of an era one cant deny the effect its had on society whether intentional or not. What once started was some lousy spin off for a couple seasons turned into a cant miss show starting season 3. There was plenty of real backstabbing that occurred on and off camera. I found myself compelled to jump in during season 3 and see what all the fuss was about. While it wasn’t life changing it was entertaining. I find these shows to be entertaining by the musical selection as the people who select the movie to go with the show are just as important as anyone. I recently watched an episode from the very first season with standard default music included due to MTV not being able to license the rights to the songs. The show was totally different. While I am sure all the people that have influenced people in LA on what clubs and places to go will have their own shows down the road. Its hard to believe what the show started out as and what its become. I give a lot of props to Adam Divello for milking this cow for all it could get. He realizes now its time to move on probably one season too late. I can see them maybe 5 years from now doing a movie where you catch up with all the girls kind of like Sex and The City did and it being very successful.
